The Discipline Inspection Commission of China Paper Industry Holds a Special Democratic Life Meeting on the Theme Education Campaign of “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind”

On August 29, in accordance with the Implementation Plan for the “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration and Keeping Our Mission Firmly in Mind” Thematic Education Campaign issued by the Discipline Inspection Commission of China Chengtong Holding Group, and with the approval of the Group’s Discipline Inspection Commission, the Discipline Inspection Commission of China Paper Industry convened a special democratic life meeting on thematic education for its members. The meeting was chaired by Ji Shumming, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission of China Paper Industry, and attended by members of the company’s Discipline Inspection Commission; members of the Discipline Inspection and Supervision Office (Inspection Office) also attended as non-voting observers.

During the meeting, members of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, in light of the overarching requirements of the thematic education campaign—“stay true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind; identify gaps and ensure effective implementation”—conducted a thorough and in-depth examination and analysis of problems and their root causes across five key areas: theoretical study, ideological and political awareness, dedication to work and entrepreneurship, service to the people, and integrity and clean governance. They focused on the “four comparisons” and the “four areas for self-reflection,” delivered individual speeches closely tied to the theme, dared to expose their own shortcomings in self-criticism, and offered candid, no-holds-barred criticism of one another, thereby achieving the intended outcomes of zeroing in on problems, engaging in vigorous self-examination and mutual critique, and effectively addressing underlying issues.

In his concluding remarks at the meeting, Ji Shumming emphasized that discipline inspection commissions at all levels within China’s paper industry must adhere to the principle of “taking the lead in studying, delving deeper into the study, addressing problems more thoroughly, and implementing reforms more effectively.” They should coordinate with and complement the Party committees’ thematic education campaign, align their efforts, and advance in parallel, striving to ensure that every stage of the campaign is carried out in a coordinated manner, achieves full coverage, conducts precise self-examination, implements substantive rectification, and delivers outstanding results, thereby guaranteeing that the thematic education is conducted in a solid, effective, and in-depth way. As a key component of this thematic education, the democratic life meeting was preceded by thorough preparations, with content closely aligned with the theme and directly addressing the root causes of existing problems. Members of the discipline inspection commissions remained true to their original aspirations, shouldered their mission, identified gaps, and ensured effective implementation, thus undergoing a comprehensive and in-depth political health check that achieved the intended outcomes.
