Employee Basketball Tournament Concludes Successfully, with Championship Showdown Highlighting the Spirit of Perseverance

On October 24, the 18th Hongta Renheng Employee Basketball Tournament came to a successful close, with Production Department One clinching the championship, Production Department Two taking second place, and Production Department Three securing third. Zhang Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Hongta Renheng Party Committee, Yang Dongmei, Chairperson of the Trade Union, and Xu Bin, Assistant to the General Manager, presented the winning flags and prize money to the teams that finished first, second, and third, respectively.

On the evening of the 24th, Production Department One and Production Department Two—two long-standing powerhouses—clashed in a thrilling showdown on the basketball court at Hongta Renheng Qianshan Plant. The organizing committee even invited professional basketball referees to officiate the match. Ahead of the game, company employees had heard about this high-stakes rivalry and arrived early to cheer on their favorite teams. Dedicated fans purchased special “heartwarming” drinks for the players, while some players’ family members also showed up to offer their support, creating an incredibly lively atmosphere!

Right from the opening tip-off, Production Unit One unleashed a blistering 6–0 run, instantly igniting the atmosphere. Production Unit Two promptly called a timeout; after a brief adjustment, they returned with the poise and determination of defending champions, quickly clawing their way back into the game. The intensity surged once more as players on the court kept a close eye on the score, gritting their teeth and leaving nothing to chance. The scoreboard kept flashing new numbers, yet the gap remained stubbornly narrow. The on-court competition was fiercely intense, while off the court the cheerleaders erupted in unison, their cheers ringing out across the arena and turning the entire venue into a searing hotbed of energy.

The first three quarters of high-intensity, fiercely contested play left everyone utterly exhausted. “In a narrow passageway, the brave prevail”—as the fourth-quarter whistle blew, the atmosphere on court surged dramatically. Players moved with lightning speed and ferocity, seamlessly switching between offense, defense, screens, and cut plays; there were numerous timeouts, four ties, and a back-and-forth battle that remained deadlocked, leaving the crowd in constant awe.

Four minutes into the fourth quarter, Production Team Two once again extended the lead to double digits. However, Production Team One quickly mounted a fierce counterattack, with scoring from both inside and outside, refusing to be deterred. With just two minutes remaining, they clawed their way back to tie the score, bringing the two teams level once more. The final two minutes saw the game reach a fever pitch, with an electric atmosphere that seemed to take everyone’s breath away. In the last 45 seconds, Production Team One held a four-point lead, only for Production Team Two to hit a long-range three-pointer—basket! The score was now 70–69, and the suspense reached a new height. But in the closing moments, both teams locked down defensively, unable to add to the tally. In the end, Production Team One prevailed 70–69, clinching the championship with an impressive six-game winning streak. Thus, the three-week employee basketball tournament came to a close, with all 21 games played and completed without a hitch.

The Hongta Renheng Employee Basketball Tournament has been held for 18 consecutive years, upholding the sporting spirit of “friendship first, competition second.” The event aims to help employees unwind and rejuvenate after their busy work schedules, while also fostering greater communication and enhancing team collaboration through athletic competition, thereby actively cultivating a corporate culture characterized by optimism, vitality, and a relentless drive to excel.
