Zhu Yue Attends the Signing Ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between China’s Health and Wellness Industry and the Japan Association for International Exchange on Health and Longevity

2023/08/31

On December 17, China Health & Wellness and the Japan International Association for Health and Longevity signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation in Beijing. Zhu Yue, Vice President of China Chengtong and Party Secretary and Chairman of China Health & Wellness, attended the signing ceremony and held talks with Sadako Sasano, Chairperson of the Association.

Zhu Yue stated that health and longevity are hallmarks of civilizational progress and a shared aspiration of all humanity. China and Japan share considerable similarities in culture, values, and social conditions. As countries with advanced aging populations, Japan has amassed extensive experience in the development of the elderly care industry, which holds significant reference value for the advancement of China’s health and elderly care sector. He expressed the hope that the two sides will strengthen cooperation and engage in more frequent mutual visits and exchanges. China Health & Wellness Association stands ready to learn from Japan’s policy framework for elderly care services through the association, draw on Japan’s cutting-edge operational management practices and talent-development expertise in elderly-care medical institutions, and collaborate with the association on in-depth, project-based initiatives between China and Japan.

Sasano Sadako stated that she is extremely pleased to establish in-depth cooperation with China Kangyang, a leading and exemplary enterprise in China’s health and elderly-care sector, and fully endorses China Kangyang’s proposal to strengthen bilateral collaboration in the development of the elderly-care industry. She expressed her hope that future cooperation between the two parties will be elevated to a new level.

Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the two parties will leverage their respective strengths and share resources to promote exchanges in the health and wellness sector between the two countries, thereby supporting the sustained and healthy development of their respective health and elderly care initiatives.

Prior to the meeting, Zhu Yue and Sadako Sasano jointly attended an expert symposium on the exchange of experience in the health and wellness sector between China and Japan, hosted by China Health & Wellness. Sadako Sasano and Association Director Mikio Taki each delivered presentations on Japan’s development of its long-term care insurance system and on the experiences and management practices of Japanese medical, nursing, and long-term care institutions, respectively, sharing Japan’s insights into the development of the health and elderly-care sector and offering recommendations for advancing this field in China.

During the symposium, Zhu Yue also presented appointment letters to Ms. Sadako Sasano and Mr. Mikio Taki, appointing them as overseas experts in China’s health and wellness sector.

More than 30 representatives from the leadership team of China Kangyang, the head of the Group’s Asset Management Department, relevant Chinese government departments, financial institutions, elderly care service providers, and the media attended the symposium.
