—Assuming responsibility for ecological civilization development and promoting high-quality enterprise growth

To deepen study of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era and the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, to strictly standardize intra-party political life, and to effectively implement the “Three Meetings and One Lesson” system, in accordance with the requirements of the company Party Committee meeting, the company has launched an initiative in which members of the leadership team take the lead in delivering Party lectures. On March 29, Ren Xiaoping, Secretary of the Party Committee and General Manager of Foshan Huaxin Packaging Co., Ltd., delivered a Party lecture entitled “New Era, New Development—Assuming Responsibility for Ecological Civilization Construction and Promoting High-Quality Enterprise Development.” The lecture was held in the conference room of the Research Building at the Qianshan Plant of Zhuhai Hongta Renheng, and was attended by all Party members as well as mid- and high-level leading cadres from Zhuhai Hongta Renheng Packaging Co., Ltd., Foshan (Huaxin) Color Printing Co., Ltd., and Zhuhai Jinji Chemical Co., Ltd.—all subsidiaries of Huaxin Packaging.

This Party class commenced by highlighting General Secretary Xi Jinping’s emphasis during his inspection tour of Guangdong: “Hold high the banner of reform and opening up in the new era and continuously deepen these efforts.” Drawing on his own observations, experiences, and reflections, Ren Xiaoping provided a detailed interpretation of General Secretary Xi’s series of important expositions on the construction of a socialist ecological civilization, as well as the call in the report to the 19th National Congress to accelerate institutional reforms for ecological progress. He then conducted an in-depth analysis and discussion of three key questions: “Why pursue green development?” “What will happen if green development is not of high quality?” and “How can we achieve high-quality development?”

Ren Xiaoping pointed out that environmental, resource, human, and institutional factors have indeed propelled China’s rapid development over the past several decades; however, behind this rapid growth lies a fundamental shortcoming—lack of sustainability. This lack of sustainability is now undermining the building of an ecological civilization, as grassland degradation, land salinization, glacial melt, and lake drying-up are all becoming increasingly severe. What, then, should be done? In response, General Secretary Xi Jinping proposed the “five-sphere integrated plan,” which encompasses economic development, political development, cultural development, social development, and ecological civilization development. These five major areas of development are all rooted in the enduring vitality of the Chinese nation.

Ren Xiaoping stated: General Secretary Xi Jinping has emphasized that “development is the top priority, talent is the primary resource, and innovation is the primary driving force.” To achieve high-quality enterprise development, we too must focus on these three “firsts.” If we define high quality as sustainability, then there are several essential conditions we must meet—and we must pursue them in a broad, strategic direction. First is sustainability in terms of safety: we must be fully prepared to withstand every inspection conducted by higher-level environmental protection oversight teams, and we must have the confidence and determination to do so. Second is sustainability in terms of resources: we must steadfastly uphold our goals and direction for development, rather than changing course from one day to the next. Hongta Renheng has, over more than two decades, transformed a barren plot of land and a fishpond into a thriving urban “white, rich, and beautiful” community; we, too, must safeguard the fruits of our more than twenty years of dedication. Third is sustainability in terms of people: we must remain simple in our conduct and meticulous in our work. At its core, corporate competition is about management, and at the heart of management are people. Party members must set an exemplary and leading example; only when Party building is done well can enterprise operations and development thrive.

This Party class was centered on the goal of shouldering the responsibility for ecological civilization construction and aimed at promoting high-quality enterprise development. In light of the company’s current new requirements for transformation and development, the session focused on planning for growth, thinking strategically over the long term, and boosting morale. The lecture concluded successfully to warm applause. Hongta Renheng, Huaxin Color Printing, and Jinji Chemical will continue to implement the initiative in which members of the Huaxin Packaging leadership team take the lead in delivering Party lectures, and through this series of activities foster a strong atmosphere in which everyone delivers Party lectures and everyone receives education, thereby fully leveraging the role of grassroots Party organizations as bastions of combat and further enhancing the cohesion and fighting capacity of enterprise employees.
