Following in the Footsteps of Our Martyrs and Revisiting the Revolutionary Path — Hongta Renheng Holds a Themed Party Day Activity

2023/08/31

To study and implement the spirit of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, strengthen patriotic education for Party members, carry forward the Party’s revolutionary traditions, and enhance the confidence and determination of the company’s Party members and cadres to work hard and achieve success, the Party Committee of Hongta Renheng organized a themed Party Day activity on July 6, with the theme “Uphold Our Original Aspiration, Strive Vigorously, and Achieve High-Quality Development of Hongren.” Zhang Hong, Deputy Secretary of the Hongta Renheng Party Committee, led a total of 80 participants, including all Party members, development candidates, and active applicants, in attending this themed Party Day event.

After a three-hour drive, all Party members arrived at 10:00 a.m. at the first stop on their red-education tour—the Luofu Mountain East River Column Memorial Hall. The memorial hall comprises four exhibition halls: the Prologue Hall, the Display Hall, the Heroes and Martyrs Hall, and the Audiovisual Hall. These halls showcase a wealth of historical documents, photographs, and revolutionary relics, providing a comprehensive account of the revolutionary deeds of the East River Column, the Two Guangs Column, and the Guangdong–Jiangxi–Hunan Border Column.

Over the course of eight years of the War of Resistance, the Dongjiang Column underwent several reorganizations under extremely arduous conditions and ultimately grew into an anti-Japanese armed force of more than 11,000 personnel. In the exhibition hall of the Dongjiang Column Memorial Hall, there is a long scroll listing the names of fallen martyrs, inscribed with the names of 5,508 heroes. This serves as a profoundly moving spiritual cleansing for all Party members, further strengthening their faith in the Party and deepening their appreciation for the hard-won blessings of today’s peaceful and prosperous life. It is precisely through the courageous and selfless sacrifices of generation after generation of Chinese Communists that we have been able to enjoy the present era of peace and prosperity. As Communist Party members, we must cherish this legacy, take history as a mirror, never forget our revolutionary forebears, and carry forward and promote the spirit of the Dongjiang Column—thus preserving and passing on the invaluable spiritual heritage left to us by history.

In front of the Memorial Hall of the East River Column, all Party members, led by Comrade Zhang Hong, stood before the Party flag and the statue of the East River Column, solemnly raising their right hands to reaffirm their Party oath. Each word of the oath rang out with resolute strength across the memorial hall’s plaza—this is not only a pledge to ourselves but also a commitment to our revolutionary forebears. We will always remain true to our original aspiration and keep our mission firmly in mind, fulfilling our duties to the Party and contributing our share to society.

The second stop on the red education tour is the Former Residence of Ye Ting, located in a remote and tranquil mountain village in Qiuchang Town, Huiyang District. This is the ancestral home of Comrade Ye Ting, which, despite having endured a century of war, remains remarkably well-preserved. The residence is a quintessential Hakka walled house, with its interior layout and furnishings still intact as they were in the past. In the kitchen and along the corridors, one can find numerous everyday tools used by ordinary farming families in their fieldwork back then. The wooden beds, wardrobes, and desks in each bedroom have faded and yellowed with the passage of time, yet the footprints of Comrade Ye Ting’s upbringing and his heroic deeds will forever shine brightly and stand tall in the hearts of every Party member.

On the other side of Ye Ting’s former residence is an exhibition hall displaying photographs and materials that chronicle the life and deeds of General Ye Ting, featuring numerous precious historical photos and archival documents. Standing in the very places where Comrade Ye Ting once lived and viewing one moving image after another along with accompanying descriptions, every Party member profoundly feels just how close revolution and history are to us. The historical artifacts, quietly mounted on the walls as silent witnesses, exude an aura of timelessness. This priceless treasure will be passed down from generation to generation.

Through a day of visits and study, all Party members and those being considered for Party membership have gained a valuable lesson: not only have they deepened their understanding of the glorious journey and outstanding achievements of our revolutionary predecessors, but their sense of responsibility and mission as Party members has also been greatly inspired. In light of the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s speech at the work conference on the “Remain True to Our Original Aspiration and Keep Our Mission Firmly in Mind” thematic education campaign on May 31, 2019, we will forever remember history, consistently exemplify the vanguard role of Party members, strive arduously and overcome difficulties in both our work and daily life, transform the revolutionary spirit into a driving force for our work, stay true to our original aspiration, forge ahead with determination and initiative, and achieve high-quality development of Hongren.
