Group Holds 2019 Trade Union Cadre Training Program

2023/08/31

From October 28 to 30, the Group’s Beijing-based directly affiliated trade union hosted a training program for trade union officials in Beijing. Shan Zhongli, Deputy Secretary of the Group’s Party Committee and Chairman of the Trade Union, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.

Dan Zhongli pointed out that all trade union officials must enhance their awareness and elevate their perspective, fully recognizing the profound significance of the Group’s organization of this training program and earnestly strengthening their sense of responsibility and mission in performing trade union work. First, they must thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the 17th National Congress of the All-China Federation of Trade Unions, thereby grasping the new requirements for the development of China’s workers’ movement. They should strengthen ideological and political guidance for employees, intensify efforts to safeguard workers’ rights and provide related services, and unite and mobilize the broad workforce to “act as masters of the country and make contributions in the new era.” Second, they must fully leverage the functions and roles of the trade union to support the Group’s high-quality development. They should proactively adapt to the needs of the Group’s reform and development, intensify their study of theoretical knowledge and relevant laws and regulations, and master the professional skills necessary for effectively carrying out trade union work. Third, they must enhance the competence and quality of trade union officials and strengthen the building of the trade union team. They should firmly establish a work orientation centered on employees and focus their efforts on cultivating a stronger sense of innovation, unleashing innovative talent and wisdom, daring to engage in innovative practice, and improving innovative capabilities.

Dan Zhongli emphasized that union officials participating in the training should cherish this opportunity, study with focused dedication, strive to gain meaningful insights, and thoroughly master the fundamental theories and core skills of trade union work. They must integrate learning with practice, applying the new theories, knowledge, and skills acquired during the training to the day-to-day operations of trade unions, with a particular focus on addressing the weaknesses and shortcomings in grassroots union work and continuously enhancing the quality and standard of union activities. In addition, they are required to strictly adhere to the training regulations, uphold a rigorous academic attitude and professional demeanor, and thereby showcase the proactive and upward-looking spirit of the Group’s union officials.

This training program for trade union officials has invited experts and professors from the All-China Federation of Trade Unions and the China Institute of Industrial Relations to deliver lectures, covering both the latest theoretical and policy analyses and practical skills, with a comprehensive scope that addresses all aspects of trade union work. The program has effectively enhanced the overall competence of the Group’s trade union officials in performing their duties.

During the training program, participating union officials actively shared their work experiences and best practices, and engaged in in-depth exchanges on the challenges and difficulties facing union work. Participants noted that the training had deepened their understanding of the new mission and tasks of trade union work in the new era, met the urgent need for knowledge, conceptual, and methodological updates among union officials, and comprehensively enhanced their capabilities and professional competence. They pledged to effectively translate the outcomes of the training into concrete improvements in their overall performance, leveraging what they had learned to drive innovation and development in the Group’s union work, and to unite and mobilize all employees to contribute their wisdom and strength to the Group’s pilot reform initiatives.
